Hi,
I'm running this on a computer that is pretty new, and I'm scared for overheating. Can that happend if i run this over a longer period of time (6-12 hours or so)? I have played games without that happening, but scared now cause i dont know what will happend when i have it running at 100%
Also does this application use my ram aswell as my CPU?

Hi Daniel,
Computers especially modern day computers should be fine running at 100% as their cpu's are designed to operate within a certain thermal range and running at 100% processing is within that range. Though it is always important to make sure to do normal maintenance like blowing dust out of your computer and making sure the exhaust vents are clear from obstruction. Modern processors also have a thermal sensor to reduce performance to mitigate the chance of damage if the heat does rise too much.
note: If you are running a laptop you may want to run at 60-80% processing speed as some laptops get hot to the touch as their dissipation of heat is not as efficient as desktops.
GridRepublic does use RAM as it is a program on a computer as do all programs that run on a computer.
You should not notice any performance change to your computer while running GridRepublic/PTP/BOINC as it runs at the lowest priority of programs for resource access.

It is not a laptop.
I got 6 gb ram in my computer, and it was using about 60% of that so i was just wondering if it was the program or that i was running to much, i also got i7 so i think ill run it on about 100% then, and the computer pretty clean for dust

There are plenty of free programs out there to help monitor and alert you if your processor is overheating. Mine is currently running at 46-48 degrees celcius at 100% processing. I made sure to put both front and back case fans (since my case allows it) and made sure I had a decent heat sink (not stock) to keep my processor cooler. I am looking to upgrade my case so that I can use larger than 80mm fans and get some more air movement through my case.

Sleeping a monitor
Computer related.... I have grid republic running constantly. No issue there.... The issue is that it is not allowing my monitor to sleep. I am running windows 7 64 bit with a corei7. I have double and triple checked my power options and it says turn off screen in 10 minutes and yet it does not.... HELP!!!
I cannot think of any reason your monitor would not be going to sleep mode other than the power setting you said you've checked. I have had trouble with applying the power settings on my Windows 7 64 bit machine.
GridRepublic does not interfere with the power saving settings and runs at lowest priority. So I'm not sure what else you can check. Have you tried disableing GridRepublic from running then seeing if your power settings take effect?
