Hey, I just wanted to ask a quick question:
CUDA is a system created by NVIDIA that allows certain NVIDIA GPUs to run scientific computations, rather than just graphic.
I have noticed that the BOINC client has allowed the use of CUDA since version 6.4.5 (the current version is 6.4.7). Does the current version of GridRepublic Client allow for the use of CUDA?
Thank you.
For those just reading, this question was answered via PM on another site. The following is an explanation based on my understanding of the situation.
The current release of GridRepublic Client does not support CUDA, although it is planned to be supported at the next release. The feature has not yet been added due to bugs in the GPU scheduling policy.
At the current time, users can still use GPU enhancements with GR by using the BOINC client and connecting it with a GridRepublic account.
The PS3Grid issue should be corrected on the next update coming soon. See this conversation.
Also an update to the GridRepublic program is being tested which adds CUDA support and some other features.
